Description

The RSI Black Knitted Shade Cloth is designed to protect plants, animals, and work areas from excess heat and light — without blocking airflow or adding weight to whatever it’s covering. It’s available in 30%, 50%, and 70% shade percentages so you can match the level of coverage to what you’re growing or shading.

What sets the knitted construction apart from woven shade cloth is durability. The interlocking fiber design means the threading won’t shift or unravel — even if the cloth gets a tear, it won’t spread. It’s also 20% thinner and lighter than woven alternatives, which puts less stress on greenhouse frames, pergolas, or any structure it’s draped over.

A quick guide to the shade levels: 30% takes the edge off while letting most light through, 50% is the middle ground, and 70% is for intense sun or plants that prefer real shade. If you’re not sure, 50% is a safe starting point — and the cloth is easy to swap later.

Each cloth comes with rust-resistant brass grommets placed about 2 feet apart around the full perimeter. Fasteners aren’t included, so add a pack of bungee balls if you need a way to tie it down — about one per grommet. Available in widths of 5ft, 6ft, 10ft, and 12ft, with lengths from 8ft to 30ft.
