Description

The Alton Fusion Greenhouse Shed Hybrid is for you if you want a greenhouse that’s genuinely usable and a clean, dry place to store the things that make gardening easier. It’s a rare layout that gives you growing space and a dedicated shed in one tidy structure.

It feels solid because it’s built around Western Red Cedar with aluminum reinforcement where it matters—including an aluminum base frame that keeps wood off the ground. Add the tight-glazed glass-in-wood system and you get a greenhouse side that feels quiet and secure, plus a shed side that works like a real workspace from day one.

Two Spaces, One Smart Footprint

The Fusion is built for the way people actually garden: plants on one side, the messy work on the other. The greenhouse stays open and enjoyable, while the shed side handles storage, potting supplies, and all the extras that would otherwise crowd your growing space.

The internal sliding door keeps everything connected, so you can move from plants to tools to workbench in seconds.

Cedar Comfort, Protected Where It Matters

Western Red Cedar does more than give the Fusion its warm, classic look. It also offers better natural insulation than all-metal framing, helping create a more moderated greenhouse environment through changing weather.

Alton also reinforces the areas that matter most. The aluminum base frame helps keep the cedar off damp ground, while aluminum capping protects key glazing areas and adds durability. It’s smart protection that helps the structure stay cleaner, stronger, and better-looking over time.

Built to Stay Aligned

A greenhouse performs better when the structure stays true. Doors open and close smoothly, vents operate properly, and the glazing remains well seated over time. The Fusion uses strong cedar framing with traditional interlocking joinery to help keep the structure rigid and stable.

That added rigidity also gives the greenhouse a more secure, solid feel, with less movement and better long-term support for the glass.

Note: Natural cedar varies board to board and will weather to a soft silvery gray outdoors unless you stain or paint it.

Ventilation That Works Without Power

As warm air rises, roof vents let heat escape while lower louvers draw in cooler fresh air. That natural high-low airflow helps improve circulation and manage humidity without relying on electricity.

It’s a simple, effective system that supports a healthier greenhouse environment.

A Shed You’ll Actually Use

This is what makes the Fusion different. The attached shed gives you a true working zone right next to your greenhouse, so you have a place to pot, store tools, keep supplies dry, and handle the mess without crowding your growing space.

With thermowood flooring underfoot, a built-in workbench, opening windows for ventilation, and a locking hinged door, it feels like a finished, usable extension of the greenhouse rather than an afterthought.

Q&As

What does it mean to choose the shed on the left or right?

his refers to which side the shed is on when you are facing the front of the building. A left-hand shed has the shed on the left side, while a right-hand shed has it on the right.

This matters because it affects how the Fusion fits your space. You may want the greenhouse side positioned for better sun exposure, or the shed side placed closer to a path, fence, or work area for easier access.

What foundation do I need?

Picking a level site is the best first step. It is important that the foundation is level and strong enough to hold the greenhouse. A concrete slab or a concrete perimeter wall will provide the most solid, long-lasting base. The key is that your foundation is level, square, and well-draining—even small twists can affect door operation and panel fit.

Does cedar color vary?

Yes — and that’s normal. Cedar is a natural material, so boards will vary in tone (light honey to deeper reddish shades) and grain pattern. Over time, cedar also weather-shifts if left unfinished.

Do I need to paint or treat it?

No. All Alton greenhouses are made from naturally rot-resistant Western Red Cedar and come factory-treated with a clear preservative. You don’t need to stain or re-treat it for rot protection—most owners just do a yearly clean. If you want a specific color or want to slow the natural silvery aging, you can apply a stain/preservative (easiest before assembly).

Do the roof vent openers require electricity?

No. They are wax-cylinder openers, which expand and contract with temperature to open/close the vent—so there’s no wiring and no power required.

Are There any accessories I should add?

The Cambridge already includes shelving for the back wall. Beyond that, we always recommend adding an exhaust fan because greenhouses can heat up very quickly in direct sunlight—even on mild days. If you plan to use the greenhouse in winter, you may need a heater as well.

Where does this ship from?

How Does Curbside Delivery Work?

Freight delivery drops your crate at the curb/end of driveway. Typically, you’ll unload the contents with the driver and the crate remains on the truck. If you have a forklift or tractor with long forks, you may be able to lower the whole crate using the liftgate. Plan for 2–3 people to help.

Tip: Make sure the truck can access your driveway and you have a clear staging area ready.
