The big difference is the tinted roof panels and the included solar-powered exhaust system, which help take the edge off heat buildup. Add in the included workbench, watering, sink, and pollination support, and you’ve got a MONT kit that’s ready to use like a complete growing station from day one.

A quick note on the name: MONT greenhouses were previously known as Monticello. The name was updated, but it’s the same greenhouse line (and in some cases improved). So if you’re searching for a “Monticello greenhouse,” you’re in the right place.

Desert-Ready Roof

In strong sun, the roof is where you feel heat first. The Mojave package upgrades the roof with tinted polycarbonate panels that help reduce glare and take the edge off intense light—making the greenhouse more comfortable to use and easier to manage in hot climates right out of the box.

Solar Exhaust Ventilation

This package includes a solar-powered exhaust fan system designed to pull hot air out quickly when the greenhouse heats up. Because it’s solar, it’s especially convenient in bright, hot climates—no electrical hookup needed, and it keeps your ventilation running in an eco-friendly way.

Because the exhaust system is doing the heavy lifting, the Mojave package uses fewer roof vents than the standard MONT setup—keeping venting simple and intentional.

More Secure Double Door

The hinged double doors use a more substantial locking system with a bar-style mechanism you can engage and disengage easily. It creates a tighter, more secure close—especially helpful in gusty conditions and for everyday peace of mind.

Lockable Roof Vents

On very stormy days, you can lock the roof vents down for extra security. Many greenhouse lines treat this as an add-on upgrade—MONT includes it as part of the updated design so you can secure the greenhouse fast when weather gets rough.

What foundation do I need?

Picking a level site is the best first step. It is important that the foundation is level and strong enough to hold the greenhouse. A concrete slab or a concrete perimeter wall will provide the most solid, long-lasting base. The key is that your foundation is level, square, and well-draining—even small twists can affect door operation and panel fit.

Do the roof vent openers require electricity?

No. They are wax-cylinder openers, which expand and contract with temperature to open/close the vent—so there’s no wiring and no power required.

Are There any accessories I should add?

If you pick the Premium package, it already includes the essential starter accessories. Beyond that, we always recommend adding an exhaust fan because greenhouses can heat up very quickly in direct sunlight—even on mild days. If you plan to use the greenhouse in winter, you may need a heater as well.
