All-Season Insulation
The Nelke Pro uses 16mm UV-protected triple-wall polycarbonate on both the roof and walls, with an R-Value of 3.0.
In real terms, that means better heat retention and a greenhouse that doesn’t swing as wildly on chilly nights or windy days. The wide internal channels also help keep the space bright and usable, while the UV protection is built into the material for longevity.
Note: For quick context, one of our 4mm glass greenhouse models is listed at R-1.2. The Nelke Pro’s 16mm triple-wall polycarbonate is R-3.0, which is why it holds heat better and stays more stable when temperatures swing.
Sealed for Efficiency + Weather Resistance
The Nelke Pro is designed to feel “tight” when assembled. Rubber glazing seals help keep the panels seated, minimize drafts, and reduce the wind-rattle you hear in lighter builds.
The result is a greenhouse that’s easier to heat, more comfortable in cold months, and far less prone to panels shifting or popping loose on a windy day.
Little real-world example: In our backyard, a small (5,000BTU) heater kept the greenhouse around 50°F when it was about 17°F outside. That’s the benefit of a tight build + insulated panels: you don’t have to fight constant heat loss.
Comfortable Access + Flexible Airflow
The Nelke Pro’s wide Dutch barn door and low threshold make daily use noticeably easier—especially when you’re hauling large pots, trays, or even a wheelbarrow.
And because of the split design, you can open the top half to keep fresh air moving while the bottom stays closed—great for maintaining a natural cross-breeze with the rear window, and helpful for keeping pets and curious critters out while you work.
Ventilation That Works Automatically
On sunny days, you need heat to escape fast—and you don’t want to babysit vents. The Nelke Pro includes two large roof vents (40″ x 24″) with automatic wax openers. They open as the temperature rises and close back down as it cools, helping the greenhouse “self-regulate” through the day.
It’s a simple, reliable system that improves airflow and helps prevent those quick mid-day temperature spikes when you’re not home.

What foundation do I need?
Your foundation needs to be level, square, and well-draining—that matters more than the material. A treated wood beam base (anchored) or the optional foundation frame works well for many installs. For maximum stability, go with concrete blocks/pavers or a poured concrete perimeter/slab.

Is This a Heavy-Snow Greenhouse?
Not really. The Nelke Pro is best for cold weather and moderate snow, but it’s not a “heavy-snow” design out of the box. Exaco tested a showroom model by evenly loading 2,064 lbs on the roof—about 13.3 lbs/ft². That’s fine for typical winter storms, but if you regularly get deep, wet snow that piles up and sticks around, a Riga is usually the better fit because it sheds snow more effectively.
Do the roof vent openers require electricity?
No. They are wax-cylinder openers, which expand and contract with temperature to open/close the vent—so there’s no wiring and no power required.
Are There any accessories I should add?
If it fits your layout, full-length shelving is the most useful add-on for everyday growing and organization. Beyond that, we usually recommend an exhaust fan, since greenhouses can heat up fast in direct sun—even on mild days. If you plan to grow through winter, you may also want a heater (and a small circulating fan helps a lot, too).

How Does Curbside Delivery Work?
Freight delivery drops your crate at the curb/end of driveway. Typically, you’ll unload the contents with the driver and the crate remains on the truck. If you have a forklift or tractor with long forks, you may be able to lower the whole crate using the liftgate. Plan for 2–3 people to help.
Tip: Make sure the truck can access your driveway and you have a clear staging area ready.
