Under the beauty, it’s built on a rigid 17-gauge aluminum frame with a tight-seal glazing system designed to stay solid and reduce drafts. And if you’re in a hot, sunny climate, the hybrid roof option helps cut glare and manage heat while keeping the all-glass feel on the walls.
That Seamless Glass Look
Full-height 4mm tempered glass gives the Royal Victorian its “true glass room” feel—bright, open, and visually connected to the outdoors.
Because the panels are full-height, you also avoid extra horizontal breaks and overlaps that can collect dust and grime over time.
Heat Control Without Losing the Look
For sun-heavy climates, choose the hybrid roof option, which uses 10mm “milky white” twin-wall polycarbonate to reduce overheating and soften intense sunlight. The roof panels diffuse light for a brighter, more balanced interior, and they’re sealed/taped at the ends to help keep moisture out.

Door Upgrades
Add a low-threshold entry for easier in-and-out access. If you want the tightest seal, upgrade to the double hinged door—this is also the recommended choice for stem-wall builds.
Drop Door Kit (for stem wall installs)
Made for raised installs so your entry stays clean and comfortable—ideal when you’re building up on a stem wall (up to ~30″)
Door Centering Kit
For centered door layouts when the bay spacing doesn’t line up naturally. Creates two narrow bays on either side of the door for a clean, symmetrical look. Glass can only ship with the original greenhouse order; after shipment, framing is available and glass must be sourced locally.
Auto Venting, When You Need It
Automatic roof vent openers provide hands-free heat relief as temperatures rise. The louvered window helps feed fresh air, supporting better overall airflow.
Spindle openers for roof vents are still valuable when you want quick control—or when you’re running an exhaust fan and keeping roof vents closed.
You can also upgrade manual openers to match the setup you prefer.

What foundation do I need?
All Janssens greenhouses require a proper foundation despite the strong base frame because glass greenhouse is heavy. A concrete slab or a concrete footing will provide the most solid, long-lasting base. The key is that your foundation is level, square, and well-draining—even small twists can affect door operation and panel fit.
You have to cement the foundation into the footer for the perfect stability. Do not set concrete in the corners until the entire greenhouse frame is complete, level, and square! Please, have a look at the manual or this assembly video for the Royal Victorians. They illustrate how it’s done correctly.

Do the roof vent openers require electricity?
No. They are wax-cylinder openers, which expand and contract with temperature to open/close the vent—so there’s no wiring and no power required.
Are There any accessories I should add?
We always recommend adding an exhaust fan because greenhouses can heat up very quickly in direct sunlight—even on mild days. If you plan to use the greenhouse in winter, you may need a heater as well.

How Does Curbside Delivery Work?
Freight delivery drops your crate at the curb/end of driveway. Typically, you’ll unload the contents with the driver and the crate remains on the truck. If you have a forklift or tractor with long forks, you may be able to lower the whole crate using the liftgate. Plan for 2–3 people to help.
Tip: Make sure the truck can access your driveway and you have a clear staging area ready.
