Description

The Janssens Modern is for anyone who loves the Janssens “garden room” experience—but wants a more contemporary silhouette. Its mono-pitch roofline gives you that freestanding lean-to look, while the all-glass finish keeps the space bright and stylish in every season.

It’s a premium structure you’ll actually spend time in—whether that means coffee in the morning, potting and staging plants, or a clean modern retreat in the backyard.

Modern Shape, Premium Presence

The mono-pitch roof changes the whole vibe. Instead of a classic peaked greenhouse look, you get an architectural profile that feels more like a modern outdoor room.

If you’re designing a backyard space—not just a growing zone—this shape tends to blend beautifully with modern homes, patios, and hardscapes.

Tempered Glass = The “Garden Room” Feel

The full-height glass panels keep the space feeling open and bright, and the taller interior gives you that comfortable, walk-in-room vibe—whether you’re staging plants, adding seating, or just enjoying the view.

The 4mm tempered glass adds clarity and a premium finish, making the greenhouse feel more like an architectural outdoor room than a traditional growing shelter.

Note: On M34 and M36, the roof glazing is split into two sections with a small overhang (1.5″) rather than one long panel. This makes delivery logistics simpler compared to extra-long roof panels, eliminating the need for a liftgate.

Strength You Can Feel

This model isn’t “modern” just in looks—its structure is engineered for the long roof span. The rafters and roof profiles are oversized compared to standard units, and the design includes cross supports to keep everything rigid and aligned.

It’s the kind of construction that makes the whole greenhouse feel solid when weather picks up.

Flexible Entry + Tight-Seal Door

The hinged double door creates a wide opening that feels natural for a garden room—easy for moving furniture, trays, or larger pots. It’s also lockable and designed for a tighter, more secure close than basic greenhouse doors.

Flexible placement lets you plan the flow around your patio, paths, and seating zones.

Ventilation You Can Adjust

The Modern gives you multiple ways to manage airflow throughout the day. Roof vents help release rising heat, while side windows and louvers bring in fresh air and improve circulation below.

That gives you more control over temperature and comfort, whether you’re gardening, relaxing inside, or trying to cool the space on warmer days.

Q&As

What foundation do I need?

All Janssens greenhouses require a proper foundation despite the strong base frame because glass greenhouse is heavy. A concrete slab or a concrete footing will provide the most solid, long-lasting base. The key is that your foundation is level, square, and well-draining—even small twists can affect door operation and panel fit.

You have to cement the foundation into the footer for the perfect stability. Do not set concrete in the corners until the entire greenhouse frame is complete, level, and square! Please, have a look at the manual or this assembly video for the Royal Victorians. They illustrate how it’s done correctly.

Do the roof vent openers require electricity?

No. They are wax-cylinder openers, which expand and contract with temperature to open/close the vent—so there’s no wiring and no power required.

Are There any accessories I should add?

We always recommend adding an exhaust fan because greenhouses can heat up very quickly in direct sunlight—even on mild days. If you plan to use the greenhouse in winter, you may need a heater as well.

How Does Curbside Delivery Work?

Freight delivery drops your crate at the curb/end of driveway. Typically, you’ll unload the contents with the driver and the crate remains on the truck. If you have a forklift or tractor with long forks, you may be able to lower the whole crate using the liftgate. Plan for 2–3 people to help.

Tip: Make sure the truck can access your driveway and you have a clear staging area ready.
